Description
Summary:Millennials are distinguished from older generations by their spending habits, brand preferences, values, personalities, and general outlook on life in entirely different ways than have other generations (Barton, Koslow, & Beauchamp, 2014). PT BIG whose have specialized at bed sheet and bed cover also have a problem related this fact. Operational auditor manager of PT BIG said their warehouse become full for unused goods which is from that phenomenal PT BIG hard to have a space more to produce others. This situation could be happened when sales forecast doesn’t fit enough with market demand and not covered as well. In literature review step we know theories from the experts about forecast and material requirement planning. For forecast using four methods it is moving average, exponential smoothing, Holt’s model, and Winter’s model. Material requirement planning using three kind of methods it is lot sizing or lot-for-lot, economic order quantity (EOQ), and the last one periodic order quantity (POQ). We will compare the forecast and material requirement planning method that suitable with PT BIG. Research method for this paper using both of quantitative and qualitative. Since PT BIG doesn’t have material requirement plan and do it with traditional recording way, from lot sizing, EOQ, and POQ showing lot sizing the suitable MRP method in this case with lowest cost in 90,570,000 IDR for January, February, and March 2018.
