Description
Summary:Linear accelerator room installation design is a requirement for radiation safety in terms of radiation protection. Radiation protection aims to reduce harmful effects caused by radiation by determining dose limit values. This final project report is intended to evaluate the design of Linac room and compare it with the result of calculation using method based on the NCRP Report No. 151. Other than calculation evaluation, author also performed radiation survey using GM counter to obtain dose rate value measured outside the Linac room. Calculation result includes the thickness of primary and secondary barriers, equivalent dose rate on the walls and doors, and TADR. By observing the Linac blueprint, barrier thicknesses of the blueprint are satisfy the result of barrier calculation, equivalent dose rate on walls are less than dose limits, TADR calculation results are less than the TADR limit value, and total calculation results of dose rate on the doors exceed the International standard of dose limit. The measurement dose rate outside the Linac room are below the radiation limits per week, with workload 1000 Gy/week.
