Description
Summary:PT Brodo Ganesha Indonesia is a small and medium enterprise which is enggaged in shoes and apparel industry with main products made from leather. Currently, one of the problems facing Brodo is that the warehouse handling system is still not good in terms of storing, mapping, and labeling in the warehouse. The wastes that occurred caused some goods tucked and hard to find and goods placed in random. To solve the problem, the concept of lean thinking is used to eliminate waste in Brodo’s finished goods warehouse so that demand for leather shoes and apparel by consumers can be fulfilled.

This research begins by doing real condition mapping using visual tracking by taking photo documentation, recording and direct measurement. From the mapping done, it is known that the mapping of the goods position is not in accordance with the information board data, the goods should be placed on the floor due to very low warehouse utility where the shoes utilities up to 136,98% indicating there are more than 36,98% shelves required for shoes storage apparel utilities only 34,62% indicating there are 65,39% empty shelves. Improvements were made by improving the mapping system, labeling and storing in PTS Brodo warehouse.

From the proposed improvements designed. There is an increased potential of warehouse shelving up to 100% for shoes and 98% for apparel. Proposed improvements designed are made by first discovering waste in warehouse system, after which, the root search of the problem of any waste points that occur and the improvement will be done for each root of the problem. With improvements made, Brodo warehouse system is expected to be more standardized and effective and efficient in running its business.
