The quality of life of lupus pastient is largely depend on the adherence in taking the drug. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This study aims to analyze the factors that influence patient adherence. Lupus patients with or without <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> organ involvement and receiving therapy for 24 weeks or more are the subjects in this study. This <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> study was conducted with a cross-sectional method using the MMAS-8 and the Taking Medication <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Adherence Determinants (TMAD) of lupus patients questionnaires with additional interviews of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> patient who under go treatment at rheumatology polyclinic RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung during <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> April - June 2018. Based on the MMAS-8 questionnaire which was fill out by 156 patients show that <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 18% with a high adherence, 40% moderate adherence and 42% low adherence. From the 6 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> characteristic factors (i.e. age, sex, occupation, education, frequency of treatment and length of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> treatment) only age is correlated significantly (p = 0.03) with the adherence of the patient. From the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 14 factors with 103 variables in the TMAD questionnaire studied, there were 7 variables from 7 factors <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> that influences significantly patient adherence, i.e. self-control (0.005), memory (0.000), knowledge <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> of disease (0.027), drug supply ( 0.052), physical properties of drugs (0.02), dispensation (0.033), and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> empathy (0.04) variables. Based on the results, patients should improve self-control, memory, and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> knowledge about the disease; while the hospital still has to increase drug availability and use the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> products that are physically acceptable by the patients; while Doctor have to increase competence <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> and patient care, and increase medical information completely. <br /> text |
