Summary: |
Indonesia is the fifth in world’s coal production and produces about 400 million tons of coal per year. The province of South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan is the second and the third biggest coal producer in Indonesia. Increased production of coal requires port infrastructure.

The objective of this Final Project is to design the operation pattern and the layout plan of dry bulk terminal in the Port of Barito, South Kalimantan. The design method used in this Final Project is to project the coal volume that through Port of Barito. Based on the projected data, the next methods are to design the operation pattern, the layout plan of the truck lane, the number of mooring lines on the wharf by considering the optimum Berth Occupancy Ratio (BOR), the layout plan of coal stockpile, and to calculate the capital cost.

The coal capacity that through Port of Barito is 21,16 million tons. The planned wharf is equipped with four mooring lines. Each mooring line has one ship loader with rated capacity of 1.500 ton/hour. The largest coal barge that will be handled has rated capacity of 9.700 DWT. Capital cost for design the operation pattern of Barito Port is Rp435.641.527.753.
