But the bonding strength of the tack coat layer haven't being measured yet, because of the apparatus and standard have not available yet, This research goal is designing an apparatus to measure the tack coat bonding based on shear strength between pavement layers. In this research, it was tried some comparative variation in proportion between asphalt and kerosene, and also the amount of tack coat sprayed on the pavement layer. Modified Marshall apparatus is used to measure the shear strength between pavement layers which bonded with tack coat. The results show that maximum bonding strength occur in tack coat with proportion between asphalt and kerosene at 7/3 with sprayed quantity 0,3 L/m2. text
