Description
Summary:Tirta Jaya Mandiri Water Supply Company (PDAM) is a company engaged in the provision of drinking water services. PDAM Tirta Jaya Mandiri has 21 branches of Drinking Water Treatment Plant spread over Sukabumi regency. Warungkiara-Cikembar Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is one of the WTP that operates in the service of PDAM Tirta Jaya Mandiri. Warungkiara-Cikembar has a production capacity of 40 L/s. Increasing public demand of Cikembar subdistrics for clean water makes the capacity of Warungkiara-Cikembar WTP needs to be increased. The objectives of this final project is to evaluate and redesign the coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration unit to increase clean water treatment capacity at Warungkiara-Cikembar WTP. Raw water is taken from the river Cicatih. Then the raw water into the first unit is coagulation to add PAC (Poly Aluminum Chloride). Furthermore, raw water enters the flocculation unit with slow mixing process. Then the colloid particles in the water will be settled on the sedimentation unit and the water is filtered. The clean water to be produced by Warungkiara-Cikembar water treatment plant to meet service target in 2028 is 80 L/s. To meet these targets, Warungkiara-Cikembar water treatment plant has to be redesigned by also considering compliance with the design criteria of SNI 6774: 2008 and Kawamura (1991). The existing flocculation unit of the Warungkiara-Cikembar WTP can still meet the design criteria to process the target discharge, but the existing coagulation, sedimentation and filtration units are unable to process the target rate. The suggested design is the addition of one coagulation unit with a static mixer type, two sedimentation units adapted to the existing condition of 5,1 x 3 x 3,75 m, and two filtration unit compartments which each compartment contains 5 of filter cell with size 1,39 x 1,39 m. The cost are required for uprating Warungkiara-Cikembar WTP is Rp1.551.100.000,00
