Baby boomers in this division are the senior employees who have more knowledge but near the retirement period meanwhile the junior employees did not have sufficient knowledge yet. <br />

This research aims to identify the cause of knowledge gap; identify the current knowledge management; and to propose a solution to bridge the knowledge gap in business development and marketing division in PTDI. The research method is conducted with two approach: qualitative approach using interview with representative employees and quantitative approach using Knowledge Management Assessment Tools (KMAT) developed by the American Productivity & Quality Center and Arthur Andersen with all employees in this division. <br />

The cause of the knowledge gap in this division are the generation gap and different level of experience. Based on KMAT, Process and Technology factors of knowledge management scored the lowest in this division. Therefore, this research will propose improvement and focused on problematical factors, which are: Storing and Transferring the Knowledge. <br />
