Summary: | Paracetamol is an effective and safe drug to reduce fever and pain. Excessive use of

paracetamol can cause toxic metabolites to accumulate and cause kidney or liver damage.

This research uses a carbon paste electrode modified by molecularly imprinted poly

(glutamic acid) for the determination of paracetamol by voltammetry by filter paper

method. In the manufacture of MIP modified carbon paste electrodes

electropolymerization was carried out in a solution containing paracetamol, glutamic acid

and HClO4 0.1 using cyclic voltammetry techniques at a potential range of -0.8 - 2.0 V.

Measurement of paracetamol by voltammetry by filter paper method use three working

electrodes namely, CPE, CPE-NIP and CPE-MIP. Repeated measurement results and linearity

tests show that the suitable electrodes for filter paper methods are CPE. The calibration

curve provides a linear area in the range 0.1-1 mM with a detection limit of 0.314 mM. The

three working electrodes have been used to determine the paracetamol content contained

in commercial drug samples. The working electrode that provides the best percent recovery

is CPE. |
