| Summary: | The designation of Maguwoharjo Sport Centre is one of the effort to keep sports achievement in Indonesia moving forward, especially in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Due to the lack of sports facilities athletes often find problems in reaching their achievement. For that reason, a sport centre with appropriate facilities is needed. Sport centre is an integrated sports area. Generally, sport centre is used by athletes to practice (sports as an achievement). However, the society also must be able to get the benefit from the sport centre facilities to fulfill their bodily needs (sports as a recreation). So, the designation of this sport centre must be able to be used by both of athletes and society as visitors of the sport centre.
Nowadays, sports has become a part of urban citizens’ lifestyle. Because of that, the design process creates a design that can coordinate visitors’ social activities, for example: gathering, eating, relaxing after exercise, and many more. |
