In some previous studies, this kind of analysis were not further explored especially in 4-aminophenol compound which has lower sensitivity than phenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol compounds. The analysis of phenol, 2,4-dinitrophenol, and 4-aminophenol has been conducted by using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The detector used in this analysis was UV, the column was LiChrospher® RP-18EC which was non-polar, and the eluen was methanol : water (4:1). The wavelength determination in this analysis was based on each maximum absorption of phenol, 2,4-dinitrophenol, and 4-aminophenol obtained from the maximum absorption experiment using UV spectrophotometer. The result shows that phenol exhibits the maximum absorbance at 273 nm, 2,4-dinitrophenol exhibits the maximum absorbance at 356 nm, and 4-aminophenol exhibits the maximum absorbance at 405 nm. In this analysis, the influence of phenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol toward the sensitivity of 4-aminophenol was also investigated. Based on the analysis using HPLC applied in various compounds with various elements, it show that 4-aminophenol in fact has the lowest sensitivity yet has the potential to be separated at the retention time which is not owned by phenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol. In this case, phenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol influence the sensitivity of 4-aminophenol in compounds with various elements. Therefore, it can be concluded that phenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol can affect 4-aminophenol. text
