Summary: | Used tissue papers are household waste containing high cellulose. Cellulose from such used
tissue paper waste can be degraded to free sugar products that can be used for multiple
purposes. In the present study, the degradation of used tissue paper with various brands using
the recombinant endo-1,4-?-glucanase was investigated. Firstly, enzyme from recombinant
Bacillus megaterium induced by xylosa was isolated. Secondly, used tissue papers were
hydrolyzed by the recombinant endo-1,4-?-glucanase at three different variations of
temperature. Finally, reducing sugar products were determined by the DNS method. The
experimental results showed that used tissue paper waste (10 mg) from all various brands
hydrolyzed by recombinant endo-1,4-?-glucanase at 50 oC for 5 days released 0.0007 mmol
reducing sugar. Thus, it can be concluded that recombinant endo-1,4-?-glucanase can be
used to hydrolyzed used tissue paper. |
