As a part of the creative industry, 2D animation growing rapidly in the global market. The huge scope of 2D animation industry’s application is expanding not only limited to the movie for theater or TV media. Japan as a powerhouse of the animation industry and market expanding its influence globally. Thus, the demand of co-production studio also increasing.
The business issue arose when neighboring countries such as Thailand, Philippine, Vietnam, and recently Myanmar caught that opportunities, Indonesia, on the other hand, seem to neglect that opportunity. While Indonesians artist and animators have true potential in term of skills, they lacked channeling, negotiation, and managing resources to make an effective business organization.
The company analyzed by using SWOT for internal analysis while the external analyzed using the PEST. Strength discover the channeling capability and affordable production cost. Weakness discovers the availability of human resources. Opportunity discovers limitless market and industry’s need for sub-contractor. And finally, Threat discovers the presence of overseas competitors.
The author found that there are two main issues for the new venture. First channeling for gaining project as it is important as it’s the vein and second the production or functional level need an improvement. The TOWS analysis become base for formulating a business strategy for the company to moving from the established phase to the survive phase and finally to the expanding or growing phase. |
