Description
Summary:Fullfilment of electricity in Indonesia is still minimal especially at remote areas.. One of the resource that can be used as an electricity source that haven’t been cultivated is sea current which is also a renewable energy source and is one of the easiest source to cultivate as Indonesia was made of thousands of islands and consist mostly of water body. The purpose of this final assignment is to analyse the potential power produced by using sea currents within waters surounding Combol Island where the fullfilment of their electricity necessities is still not enough. Moreover, a financial analysis will be done to determine a selling price. This study was done by making a 3D hydrodynamics model using Delft3D software. The differentiation of the model and survey water elevation was as the following; 9.42% for the large region model, and 9.41% for the small region. The current speed error for the small region is 12.31% but since the phase of both data is quite similar, the model is still valid. From the small region model, several locations with high current speed was chosen as potential locations. On those locations, 75 GHT instruments will be planted which is projected to produce 857,629.37 kWh yearly. The cost needed for this project is Rp13,510,693,200.00 with extra yearly cost Rp670,021,875.00 as an operational and maintenance cost. By targeting for a breakeven point at the 25th year, it was determined that the selling price to reach that target is Rp 2755 per kWh.
