Description
Summary:Greenway has providing role as part of urban green space. The main function of green way is ecological balance. This means that, the green way has a role as an absorber of pollution, water catchment area, both corridor and for wildlife, as well as other functions supporting the ecological balance. The concept of urban green space in Bandung is green network which is connecting urban green spaces through green way. In addition to provide access for public it is expected that the diversity of urban wildlife can be maintained, because it provides a wildlife corridor (line movement for animals). However, improper management makes the attainment of green way functions less than what it is expected, especially as the multi-function corridor. This study aimed to assess the function of green way as corridor connecting Tegalega Park and Maluku Park. Green way locations were observed, namely Tegalega Street, Alun-alun Street, Asia Afrika Street, Sunda Street, and Sumbawa Street. The method used is survey. This search used accidental sampling technique by distributing questionnaires and purposive sampling by interviewing to related departments and experts in the field of both animal and plant ecology. Questionnaire data are analyzed using likert scale to obtain information preception and participation from green way users. Direct observation was done by measuring CO, CO2, temperature, and vegetation records. Vegetation data are analyzed using Scoring Assessment Method with variables incluiding ecological functions and conservation. Based on analysis, it is known that the evaluation of function, biodiversity, and management of the five green ways is catergorized as good. Questions on participation on management shows a very positive (80%). The measurements result of CO and CO2 in the five green ways response within environment quality threshold. The measurements result Temperature Humidity Index showed that Sumbawa street is categorized as comfortable zone. Based on Assessment Scoring Method for vegetation, indicated that Sumbawa Street is a very good green way in supporting its function as an urban green corridor
