There are 3 mechanisms to reduce the emission, which are Joint Implementation, Clean Development Mechanism, and Emission Trading. In all of these mechanisms, mitigation of emission value is needed to know the emission reduction in the project. To mitigate the emission value, mass balance method that sees material input flow and output material flow in the process could be used. PT A.W. Faber-Castell Indonesia is one of international company from Germany, who wants to participate actively in conserving their environment. Mass balance in PT A.W. Faber-Castell Indonesia includes input material,l which is wood or leads. And the output flows are cutting wood for shaping pencils, and pencils. The mitigation of baseline emission shows that PT A. W. Faber-Castell Indonesia can contribute at small scale activities in CDM. The activities proposed include switching centralized blower with small capacity blower in each line of the machine, to add or replace machineries used in production processes , and using wood and leads powder to replace coal as fuel in power plant. For every emission reduction alternative programs which compare between condition before and after project give effectiveness minimum value is 0,35 maximum value is 0,50322. The third emission reduction alternative programs cannot be used in small-scale program because the emission can not be mitigated and limitation of data. Result from calculating the third proposed activity could only be shown when adding new machine, without reducing the use of operational and maintenance facilities, but at the capacity, because new machines give larger capacity value almost twice than the old ones. text
