SUCCROSE ADDITION EFFECT FOR SODIUM LIGNOSULFONATE ADSORPTION BY EGGSHELL

In this research the adsorption of sodium lignosulfonate compound by chicken eggshell and the addition of succrose to the sodium lignosulfonate have been studied. The most composition of chicken eggshell is CaCO3 based on the XRD data, and its surface area is 3,2320 m2/g found from BET analysis. T...

The most composition of chicken eggshell is CaCO3 based on the XRD data, and its surface area is 3,2320 m2/g found from BET analysis. The batch processes have been performed to analyze the effect of parameters such as eggshell adsorbent mass, particle size, contact time, temperature, pH and sodium lignosulfonate concentration. The maximum sodium lignosulfonate adsorption were found using 35 grams of eggshell with 150 mesh of eggshell particle size, at temperature of 850C, sodium lignosulfonate concentration 300 ppm at pH 7, and contact time 90 minutes. The sodium lignosulfonate adsorption was found 92,07%, however it decreased until 86,97% when the 100 ppm succrose was added. The adsorption processes of sodium lignosulfonate follows the Freundlich isotherm adsorption. text
