Description
Summary:Coated wire chloride ion-selective electrode has been constructed using Aliquat 336-chloride immobilized in polyvinylchloride (PVC) as supporting membrane, and dioctylphtalate (DOP) as a plasticizer. The optimum composition of the membrane materials is 7% of aliquat 336-chloride, 58% of DOP and 35% of PVC. The dynamic range of the electrode is between 10-2 –10-4 M of chloride ion, with the best Nernst factor electrode 55,45 mV/decade. Within the dynamic range, the response time of the electrode is between 300 seconds. The optimum pH for the measurement is 4,1. The performance of coated wire electrodes is slightly affected by monovalen ion nitrate.
