According to UU No. 18/2008 article 1, Material Recovery Facility is a place for collecting, sorting, reusing, processing, and final processing the solid waste. This study aims to find the most appropiate solid waste management and will be applied in MRF later. The research was conducted in one of the selected transfer station, named Pasar Kuda Intermediate Station which will be developed as a MRF. Based on the results of solid waste sampling in the service area of Pasar Kuda Intermediate Station, the amount of solid waste produced is 0.3 kg/person/day or 2.1 liters/person/day with the composition dominated by composted organic waste (36.1%), then uncomposted organic waste (27.9%). This data would be a reference to design three alternative waste management system to be applied. By using this alternative waste processing system the number of waste generation that will sent to Sarimukti landfill can be decreased from 12,841.8 kg/day to 6,139.1 kg/day in the first day and 10,543.2 kg/day in the other six days. As for the overall development cost of the processing system, it is estimated to reach Rp 1.677.577.369,00 per year. text
