Summary:Geothermal energy is an eco-friendly energy that can be used as a power plant energy. Geothermal energy is obtained from the soil layer using borehole to a 3000 m depth. Geothermal exploitation is used by PT. X located in West Java as power plant source. The side effect of geothermal power plant presence is the presence of gases such as H2S. H2S in high concentration can cause a decrease in air quality and bad impact to living organisms. In this study, H2S dispersion modeling in PT. X area is conducted. This study’s purpose is to know dispersion pattern and maximum concentration in atmosphere so it can be compared with ambient air standard quality. Modeling is conducted for annual and seasonal conditions with measurement time: 1 hour, 8 hour, and 24 hour. In addition, modeling is conducted in large domain (Garut regency) and small domain (5 km radius) in maximum emission rate and average emission rate. The result shows the highest concentration (in ppm) from maximum emission rate in condition (annual | dry | rain) is (0,518 | 0,255 | 0,518) for 24 hour time measurement, (0,873 | 0,799 | 0,873) for 8 hour measurement, and (5,236 | 4,274 | 5,236) for 1 hour measurement. Flat terrain and complex terrain effect will affect the pollutant dispersion pattern especially in the distribution area. The simulation result showed H2S concentration value in rain season is higher compared with dry season and the measured concentration value did not exceed the standard quality.
