Description
Summary:Bntylated hydroxyamsole (BHA) is a synthetic antioxtdant that ts widely used in food. cosmetics and medicine The use of BHA as an additive ts reponed to cause carcmogenic effects such as stomach cancer and llver fatlure. In thts sntdy a method for analyzmg BHA was developed usmg voltammetry. Electrodes used are modified molecularly unprinted polymer. Before the electrodes were first modified. electrode activation was perfonned using the cyclic voltammetry technique m 0.1 M H 2S04 solutiOn. The modification process was done by electropol)-1lletization of glutamic actd as a monomer and BHA as a template in pH 7 phosphate buffer solution (PBS). BHA was detennmed nsmg square wave voltammetry technique in PBS of pH 5 . 1l1e modified electrode carbon paste had good repeatability with working range of5 J.tl\f-100 11M and 40 11M-800 pM wah hmit detection of3.29721tM. Scan rate analysts shows the electron transfer process ts dtffusion control. Detenuination of BHA inmargarme showed a good accuracy and resulted in recovery between 97.2 -103.8°o.
