Summary: | The need of electrical energy is increasing along with the development of technology that increasingly dependent on electrical energy. Electrical energy is needed by many circles, both for small scale and big scale, both for educational needs or for public needs. So that there needs to be an effort to provide electrical energy that is growing as well. However, many of the efforts to provide electrical energy have side effects. Even though Indonesia is rich in resources, there are still many that can be utilized effectively, among others are rivers and sunlight. Using "Hibrid Pumped Storage" Piko Hydro Power Plant both potential that are provided in Indonesia could be used efficiently.
This Piko Hydro Power Plant are using potential energy of water that are provided by the watershed area in Jatinangor Regency, more precisely at ITB Dam 1, Jatinangor, with an area of 1,032 km2, become environmentally friendly electrical energy, using dependable discharge of 21,05 l/s and 4,49 l/s and fall height that reach 18.5 m. With the use of effective fall height of 17.29 m calculated energy that can be produced are up to 6,73 kW. With "Hibrid Pumped Storage" system that are using provided solar energy as an energy for pump back the remaining water upstream to then be used again to become electrical energy by Piko Hydro Power Plant. At this planning of "Hibrid Pumped Storage" Piko Hydro Power Plant there are a few structure component that will be designed, among others are penstock pipe, power house, trail race, and "Hibrid Pumped Storage" system that include, pump and solar panel. The exixtence of Piko Hydro Power Plant in the academic environment of ITB, Jatinangor, makes this Piko Hydro Power Plant can be used as a teaching facility as well as for academics besides being able to be used as an electric power generator in the ITB environment, Jatinangor. |
