Description
Summary:Shell Eco-marathon is a competition aiming to search for the most efficient car that has participants from universities around the world. Indonesia send several numbers of team for this competition, one of them is Cikal team. During the car creation process, Cikal team faced many failures. To prevent those failure from reocurring, the RCM is implemented on this project. RCM can be defined as a process used to decide what action should be taken for each of the failure occurs on its operational context. On its process, RCM focused on the action that could reduce the failure consequences that may occur for each of the failure modes. The implementation of RCM on this paper including asset registration, defining asset’s functions, defining the failure effects, defining the failure modes using fishbone diagram and using LTA and FMEA for the analysis. By using the analysis results, the RPN or Risk Priority Number for each failure could be estabilished and ranked to understand the severity from the most severe until the less severe failure occured. By using RCM on this Cikal project, the failure could be avoided to occur again in the future and the team member could decide the right measure to be taken for each of the failure.
