Summary: | As a large developing country, Indonesia still faces many problems in its
development. As an archipelagic country, many islands are not yet interconnected
by electricity because of the large amount of investment that Indonesia must
provide in a short time. The government launched a pre-electrification program in
2017 to increase the electrification ratio by providing Energy Saving Energy
Lamps (LTSHE) for disadvantaged areas. This LTSHE system has been
distributed throughout the country and still uses manual control to control the light
intensity. This study has a focus on developing an LTSHE prototype with
automatic control for LED dimmers using a microcontroller with PWM
modulation to improve system efficiency and avoid battery damage due to
overuse. The results of this study are automatic control with PWM modulation
that able to dim the lighting on LED lights. Automatic control is able to protect
the battery from the potential for excessive use which causes a reduced battery
life. Control by the PWM method can minimize ohmic losses, with relatively
lower transmission losses. |
