Summary: | One of the cultural heritages inherited from generation to generation is traditional
snacks. Each region has its own traditional snacks which are considered distinctive,
unique, and known as representations of the area. Traditional snacks are also often
sold on certain occasions, for circumcision, recitation, and even social gathering.
Although often presented in certain events, not everyone recognizes these snacks.
Teenagers have a fairly high interest in traditional snacks, ironically they don't know
the names and types of traditional snacks. In fact, the name is an identity, the
identity of a culture. Names, ingredients, processing, how to eat, and the
presentation of traditional snacks also have various elements, thus aesthetics,
traditions and local wisdom. In addition, teenagers frequently didn't try to think and
reflect on the food they consume. As if food is nothing but to eat. Modern snacks,
modern cakes as well as contemporary artist cakes, for instance, Makuta and
Princess Cake Syahrini remain factors why teenagers are unfamiliar with traditional
snacks.
Therefore, it is necessary to educate people about traditional snacks, especially for
teenagers. The process of securing traditional snack culture will be steadier to
develop through digital heritage. One medium that can be used is through the media
is game. Game is one of the media that is currently rise up. Besides being fun it offers
experience, knowledge and skills as well.
The methods implemented in this design are literature studies, interviews about
traditional snacks, target observations, and stores that sell traditional snacks and
questionnaires to the target. Teenagers carry out a significant role in cultural
preservation. Teenagers who will later deliver their knowledge to generations after
them. Therefore, providing knowledge about traditional snacks in Indonesia is a
must. Hence, that cultural assets in form of traditional snacks can be maintained in
the middle of this era of globalization. |
