Description
Summary:In an era where technology is very developed as it is now, humans are very dependent on the existence of electricity to support their activities. To get electricity, a power plant is used. In Indonesia, power plants are dominated by conventional power plants, one of which is a diesel power plant. Diesel power plants have generation costs which are more expensive compared to other power plants and also produce pollution that pollutes the environment. Therefore, the solution is to use an environmentally friendly power plant. One of the renewable power plants is PV. The potential power generated in Indonesia, one of which is Papua, is quite high because of the high solar irradiance. However, renewable power plants have their own problems which the electricity generated is uncertain depending on the conditions of the surrounding environment. So, one of the solution that can be used is by combining renewable power plants with conventional power plants becoming hybrid power plants. This hybrid power plant can also be added with the use of batteries if needed. This study is operated on the Jayapura, Papua electricity system. This final project research discusses the optimization of hybrid power plants. This optimization is about how to get lower generation cost from before the hybrid power plant enters the system and whether the hybrid power plant can be received by the system. So, this study discusses how to optimize hybrid power plants without disrupting the system.
