Publishing and Printing industries regarded as one of creative economic sector in Bandung. These industries development are rather lagged behind other sectors, such as fashion, music, and culinary industries. It can be inferred from the quantity of books published by local publisher in Bandung. Amidst of this, few literacy enthusiasts in Bandung started their own independent publishing agency. They publishes books with specific genres and themes, such as history or about Bandung City, hoping that creative industries in publishing sector gained its traction and move forward. Despite of its noble hope for creative industries, independent publishing faced with numerous problems, ranging from production to sales and promotion for the published books. This research aims to explore the dynamics and problems faced by independent publisher in Bandung. By identifying its problems, this research recommend few approaches that supports independent publishing industries. This research concludes that independent publishing in Bandung has yet to explore their reader’s needs that the conventional publisher/major publisher did not address. The support of government is also important and has yet to reach optimum to this independent publishing industries.
