Summary:Housing career and residential mobility likewise connects with the human life course and family composition, for example, individual and family characteristics, aging household, marital status, and family size expansion pose reason for some households to consider moving out of their current house and moving in elsewhere to fulfill their needs and welfare, and the inhabitants' housing profiles such as homeownership and housing type. Residential mobility also is known as intra urban migration, which describes how many times people move home to their old age. Besides, housing career can be defined simply as the sequence of dwellings that a household occupies during its history. This definition implies that a housing career is not automatically tied to a certain hierarchical development (from rental to ownership, or from multi-family to single-family or from small to large), but to the series of dwellings, a household occupies during the life course. This research sets up the versatility aim among households of various social economic status by analyzing factors relating to their life course and housing profiles. This research conducted by intraviewing some respondents of the breadwinner who multistageclustered random selected from the household in Bandung city. The analysis performed using crosstab analysis, chi-square test, and contingency coefficient to determine the factors that affect the desire to move or not to move.
