In the construction, government must provide avaibility of electricity in sufficient amount, good quality and also fair in price. The purpose of power plant feasibility study is to obtain optimum result in electricity production cost with good reliability. Economic studies of power generation with Levelized Electric Generating Cost (LEGC) is used to find suitable option of power plant located in Nias island, Indonesia. Located in west Sumatera island and separated by the oceans, Nias island is one of isolated area in Indonesia which is not connected to any electricity grid. Peak load in Nias area reach 14.000 kilowatt (kW). The optional of power generation to supply electricity are steam power plant, gas turbine power plant, gas engine and diesel engine. Thermoeconomic studies of power generation is using LEGC method. LEGC is calculation method of electricity production cost by function of time interval. LEGC divided by 4 main components. Component A (Capital and construction cost), Component B and D (Operation and maintenance cost) and Component C (Fuel cost). The result using LEGC method show the lowest tariff in sequence is obtained by gas engine peaker with nominal Rp. 1.703/kWh, gas engine (Rp. 1.752/kWh), steam power plant (Rp. 1.977/kWh), diesel engine peaker (Rp. 2.294/kWh), gas turbine power plant (Rp. 2.369), diesel engine (Rp. 2.383/kWh) and 2 unit gas turbine power plant (Rp. 2.399/kWh). text
