Description
Summary:The issue of truck logistic problem in Indonesia is the low utilization which causing the rise to other problems, such as the decreased of profit and decreased of incomes due to the minimal operational time or so called idle truck resources. The sharing economy concept as an emerging trend of collaborative consumption concept of practiced are believed to be the potential solution of underutilized resources problem as many researches results also indicating that sharing economy concept has becomes a promising solution in tackling the problem of low utilization and other issues in the logistic business. This research is applying a process of helicopter view to the adoption of sharing economy concept in practice to see the rich picture of existing adoption, existing studies about sharing economy, and the implication to the current problems being discussed. The rich picture output of systematic literature review was used as the foundation of proposing a feasible solution model for trucking problems by contrasting to what others have been applied in the term of sharing economy concept and seek the possible application in Indonesia context. The qualitative and modelling simulation approach was used as a method of this study. Semi-structured interview were done to understand the pain and obstacles in truck industry and to seek the feasible solution model. While, system dynamics modeling was used in this research as way to model insights of sharing economy feasible outcome in trucking industry to propose understanding that could build a mental model that sharing economy implementation is one of the preferable solutions to tackle the issue of low utilization of trucks. This study also suggesting the trucks pooling allocation aspect of trucks sharing economy environment by deriving the decision-making on trucks pooling site using GIS and FOA Algorithm. The result of this study shows the effect of implementation of sharing economy concept in truck logistic business in term of simulation study as the result of using system dynamics approach and trucks pooling model. Indicative result shows that utility rate in sharing economy for truck sharing is higher in average compared to conventional economy model for truck Industry. This study simulation also reveals the ideal trucks allocation on each trucks pooling location based on each case location through real demand data using Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm.
