Summary: | The process of handling cargo services at the Port is influenced by the Port facilities and the performance of each equipment if it has not been run optimally, it will have an impact on ship waiting times and potentially long ship queues so that loading and unloading costs increase. Problems identified in improving performance at the terminal often lead to problems of capacity development, efficiency, productivity and the environment. Terminal productivity is limited by several important factors such as the efficient use of labor, equipment and land support.
Based on the growth of loading and unloading volumes, especially coal commodities and port facilities and equipment relations, it is necessary to conduct research on dry bulk terminal operations to obtain terminal capacity by knowing the estimated maximum throughput. Cigading Port was taken as a study location because it is one of the largest dry bulk terminal ports in Indonesia.
The approach with the discrete-event simulation model is to obtain time samples from each process of loading (discharge) coal load from the start of the barge to the port waters until the coal exits the terminal area. The maximum value of throughput in scenario 1 can represent the maximum service capacity of the dry bulk terminal terminal 1 of Cigading Port for the use of piers 4.1 and 4.2 is 10,1480 tons / month.
