Summary: | ABC field is one of oil and gas producer located at offshore Natuna sea that has 4 production platforms. Gas produced from this field is exported through subsea pipeline to the costumer. Gas produced from all platforms is flowed to X platform which has complete gas processing system. This platform has two centrifugal compressors and one booster compressor to flow gas sales to buyer through West Natune Transportation System (WNTS) pipeline.
Along with Permen ESDM No 32 Year 2017 that issued about gas flare minimalization, ABC Field will make an effort to minimize its gas flare. Compared with others platforms in ABC Field, X Platform emits the biggest gas flare. X Platform can use the potency of gas flare utilization to substitute fuel gas needs or as additional of re-injection gas so that Zero Gas Flaring aspiration can be realized.
Utilization of ABC field flare gas is simulated to perform sales gas additional volume, fuel gas substitution and additional of gas lift or re-injection.Variation of 2 flare gas recovery suction point is proposed at flare gas header and outlet of 3rd stage separator X platform with lowering pressure on upstream of flare gas recovery point. Additional flare gas recovery compressor package is necessary for gas flare recovery process with consideration in technical and production rate aspect.
Two of six case study show that flared gas recovery for fuel gas substitution at ABC field can not be applied due to out of specification of LHV value requirement for existing fuel gas unit. Additional 2-4 MMSCFD additional gas from flare recovery to be used for gas lift and reinjection can be applied for long-term plan of reservoir pressure maintenance. Possible case study to be implemented is utilization flared gas by separator lowering pressure as sales gas to fulfil the sales gas contract agreement. Outlet of 3rd stage separator with 10 psig pressure is compressed to sales gas compression unit by rising the pressure up to 200.3 psig for pressure feed equalizing. Dew point, methane composition and GHV of sales gas is monitored as gas sales buyer specification parameter. Additional of 3 MMSCFD gas sales is recovered by case study 4 simulation without any additional TEG make up compared to base case study. Flare gas of X platform could be reduced from 2 MMSCFD up to approximately 0 MMSCFD based on simulation.
