Description
Summary:PT. Dirgantara Indonesia is a state-owned company that manufactures aircraft. PT. Dirgantara Indonesia is a second-tier supplier for Airbus and wants to become a first-tier supplier. To achieve this goal, PT. Dirgantara Indonesia must apply statistical process control (SPC) on its shop floor. SPC will be applied in activating before supplementary type II process (ABST-II) on steel line production in Surface Treatment Department in the form of control chart and out-of-control action plan (OCAP). This research is aimed to design control chart and its procedure for ABST-II process along with design OCAP and its procedure. The research’s methodology consists of preliminary study, data collection and processing, analysis, and conclusion. Process’ key characteristic for ABST-II is the concentration of sulfuric acid’s solution. Concentration’s data will be collected from laboratory. Exponentially weighted moving average control chart (EWMA) is selected to be used in this research and generated using Minitab. Identification for nonrandom pattern in control chart will be done using zone rules to find out whether the process is in out-of-control condition. If ABST-II process in in out-of-control condition then root cause analysis will be done to find out the cause for out-of-control condition. Root cause analysis will be done using 5Whys and illustrated in cause-and-effect diagram. The result of root cause analysis will be the checkpoints in OCAP. The procedure for control chart and OCAP is designed according to data processing steps and PT. Dirgantara Indonesia’s procedure.
