Sulawesi Tenggara itself is the fourth province with the lowest electrification ratio. Therefore a potential study and design of the power plant field will be conducted in Wawonii Strait. The methodology starts with data collection, data processing, hydrodinamic modelling, and analysis. Analysis process includes power analysis, instrument analysis, and financial analysis. Data collection and data processed include bathymetry data, validation data in form of water level and tidal elevation, and spesifications for power instruments. Hydrodinamic modelling is carried out in several stages start from determinatin of the seabed rougness coefficient obtained using a Manning coefficient of 0,020. Followed by modelling large areas to determine boundary conditions of small area models. Small area modeliing is used to analyze the potential location with the largest current velocity and obtained the location in Wawonii Strait with coordinates 122,7068, -4,5957 and a median current velocity is 1,1 m/s. Next process is analysis stage. The first analysis is choose instrument that suits environmental conditions at potential location and the instrument is KHPS Verdant Turbine. There is 121 KHPS Verdant Turbine in power plant field. Electricity power from power plant field will be converted using a power house so that it can be distributed using PLN distribustion network. Next analysis is power potential that obtained 2,05 GWh in 2018. Last analysis is financial analysis, with payback period for 25 years, the unit electricity cost in 2020 is Rp 4.210. This price is higher than the cost of production PLTA in Sulawesi Tenggara which is Rp 2.544. So electricity power from power plan field cannot be sold to PLN. text
