| Summary: | Comics are pictures and symbols embodied in a certain order, aimed at providing information or achieving aesthetic responses from readers. In its initial development, comics used print media as a means to spread and reproduce to be enjoyed by many people. The development of technology caused the book industry in Indonesia to decline due to mobile phones that make it easier for people to get information, but not to their reading interest.
Digital comics are adaptations made by conventional comics to technological developments. Digital comics allow comics to be enjoyed with mobile phones. Based on the fact that football is one of the most popular sports in Indonesia, the achievements of senior-level football over the past two decades have declined, and the interest in reading comics and watching animation in Indonesia is quite high, so the design of digital comics and football animation based on social media based on football case studies in Indonesia is needed as an effort to increase the love of young generation towards football, which has an impact on football achievements in the future.
The methodology used is qualitative with descriptive approach, through interviewees in the field of football, and literature studies. With the data, a digital comic was designed with the theme of Medan football, with the title Jago Bola Tapanuli.
Jago Bola Tapanuli tells the story of a group of teenagers who are trying to evoke the philosophy of rap typical of Medan football, against the big team of PSMS who at the same time abandoned the philosophy and switched to a modern style of football. Digital soccer comics are made in two forms, namely Web Comic and Motion Comic, which use LINE Webtoon and Youtube media and can be enjoyed online via mobile phones. |
