Summary: | DKI Jakarta's status as the capital of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia places
this region not only as the central of government, but also the central of economic
activity. As one of the cities with the fastest population and economic growth in Southeast
Asia, DKI Jakarta needs to accommodate the rising need of mobility from economic activity
that is not slowing down. Congestion is one of the problems with the most detrimental
impacts in DKI Jakarta. Moda Terpadu Raya (MRT) Jakarta, a metro system integrated
with other public transport modes such as KRL and Transjakarta is one of the government's
efforts to accommodate the needs of the movement of the population of Jakarta while at the
same time reducing congestion. However, this goal cannot be achieved if private vehicle
users who cross the highway daily do not switch to using public transportation . This study
aims to analyse the effect of the implementation of the Phase I of Jakarta MRT on DKI
Jakarta private vehicle user mode preferences, with the target of the study starting from
the identification of the factors that influence the DKI Jakarta private vehicle user mode
selection, utility models and probability of modal choice, and the magnitude of the
influence of factors that influence the sensitivity of the mode selection probability. The data
used in this research is primary data obtained through questionnaires with respondents
whose trip destinations are within a radius of 500 m from Phase I Stations of Jakarta MRT .
Method of analysis used is multiple regression analysis followed by sensitivity
analysis. The results of this study indicate that in normal cases, the probability of
respondents to choose to use the Jakarta MRT is greater than private vehicles. The factors
that influence this probability include the level of safety and security services, gender and
in-vehicle travel timed during the use Jakarta MRT. Sensitivity scenarios are carried out
on quantitative factors, namely travel time in vehicles, which shows that the probability of
choosing Jakarta MRT mode will increase when the difference in travel time between trips
using Jakarta MRT and private vehicles is increased, which is also indirectly influenced by
the efficiency of supporting mode time used by respondents to access Jakarta MRT. |
