Summary: | Infectious diseases is one of the health problems that cause the most
significant morbidity and mortality, especially in Indonesia as developing
country. Commonly treatment of infection did by antibiotic therapy, but
there were several cases of resistances, so encourage us to develop
alternative treatments using natural ingredients. Merang mushroom,
garlic, temu putih and temu mangga thought have antibacterials activity.
This research aimed for knowing antibacterial activity from those extract
and selected fraction with diffusion papper disk methode, and broth
microdilution methode. Inhibitory of 96% ethanol extract of a temu
mangga showed the best activity against S. aureus and B. cereus with
consecutive MIC 1024 ppm and 256 ppm. The best MIC was shown by the
n-hexane fraction temu mangga at 64 ppm against B. cereus. According
equality data, that 1 mg n-hexane fraction of temu mangga equivalent to
0,073 mg tetracycline as antibacterial comparison.
