At present, the total net power of all power plants at Sulawesi Island is 2324 MW. Net power of power plants that owned and managed by PT PLN (Persero) Sulawesi Regional is 1094 MW (47%), special for Hydro Electric Power Plants is around 260 MW (11%). Bakaru Hydroelectric Power Plant is a power plant owned and managed by PT PLN (Persero) in the Sulawesi electricity system, which has a vital role, both in terms of environmental policy and in terms of corporate finance as a power plant with very low production costs, so that the reliability of the Bakaru Hydroelectric Power Plant is highly expected. This study aims to identify turbine, generator and excitation sytem equipment of Bakaru Hydro Electri Power Plant, that has high potential failure and significant impact of failure to the productivity of power plant, safety and environment. After the result of critical high category of equipment obtained, the last stage of the research was determining the maintenance strategy and their intervals using Reliability Centered Maintence method. Criticality assessment by calculate criticality number of failure mode and determine concequence of faliure has produced the critical high category of equipment since a month operation are 22, critical high since three months operation are 14 equipments, critical high since 6 months operation are 8 equipment, critical high since one year operation are 15 equipment and critical high since two years operation are 8 equipment. Maintenance strategy that has been described in maintenance tasks in order to anticipate potential failures that have been determined using Reliability Centered Maintenance method is for the category of scheduled condition monitoring are 72 jobs, 5 jobs for testing and inspection, 14 jobs of scheduled restoration, 1 job of scheduled discard, 8 jobs of failure finding, 6 jobs of unscheduled maintenance and 3 jobs of redesign. text
