White tea has high levels of polyphenols due to the absence of oxidation process. In this research, white tea extract was formulated into a nanoemulsion system to enhance the wound healing activity on the skin. White tea was extracted by reflux extraction method using 20% ethanol as solvent. Nanoemulsion was prepared using Tween 80 and Span 80 (1: 1) as surfactants with PEG 400, glycerin, and propylene glycol as cosurfactants in various ratios by using stirring and sonication methods. Evaluations of nanoemulsion were conducted on density, globule size, and physical stability by centrifugation, freeze-thaw? ®®±?±? ?±¸ ?? ð?ð???±?? ??±??±? ???± ???????? ?¸ ?? ð?ð???±?? ??????±??±? ???±? Evaluation of nanoemulsion was continued by irritation and wound healing activity test using rabbits. The yield of the extraction was 31.24%, with 46.53% of water soluble extract, 42.86% of ethanol soluble extract and density of 1% extract was 0.89 g/mL. Formula that produces good nanoemulsion was containing 0.8% extracts, 8% distilled water, 40.75% mixture of surfactant Tween 80, Span 80 and PEG 400, and 50.45% virgin coconut oil (VCO). The average globule size was 330.90 ± 144.97 nm with density of nanoemulsion 0.77 ± 0.04 g/mL. Nanoemulsion was stable at room temperature for four weeks, freeze-thaw test for six cycles, and at temperature 40°C for three weeks. Precipitation was occurred after 5 hours on centrifugation test. Acute dermal irritation test showed the value of Primary Irritation Index = 0 which means nanoemulsion did not irritate the skin. There was significant differences (p <0.05) in wound lengths between control and treated by nanoemulsion on day 4, 6, 7, and 8, and between extract and nanoemulsion on day 7. The complete wound healing process in rabbits which was treated by nanoemulsion occurred on day 7, while required 12 days for control and 9 days for extract to recover completely. Nanoemulsion of white tea extract could improve wound healing activity in rabbit. text
