Due to extreme condition of marine ecosystem, marine fungi has potential to produce active metabolite which has stronger activity than terrestrial fungi. The aim of this study was to obtain pure fungal isolates of mangrove forest ecology park area Tritih Kulon, Cilacap, Central Java and the isolates are tested for antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans. From the research, there are 5 fungal isolates from leaf samples and 6 fungal isolates from mud samples. Fungal isolates were coded by FTKC 1 to FTKC 11. Then, pure fungal isolates was fermented using a shaker with a speed of 150 rpm for 21 days and it was separated between the media and the mycelium. The media were extracted by liquidliquid extraction and the mycelium were macerated using ethyl acetate. The results of the screening antimicrobial activity of the extract with concentration 250 µg/disk are extract media of FTKC 3, 4, 5, 7 and extract mycelium of FTKC 3, 4, 9 provide antimicrobial activity against S. aureus. Exract media of FTKC 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and extract mycelium of FTKC 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 provide antimicrobial activity against E. coli. Extract media of FTKC 11 provides antimicrobial activity against C. albicans. The lowest MIC value obtained is 128 µg/mL by FTKC 3 extract media culture against S. aureus, 256 µg/mL by FTKC 3 extract media culture against E. coli, and 1024 µg/mL by FTKC 11 extract media culture against C. albicans. The lowest MBC value obtained was 256 µg/mL by the FTKC 3 extract media culture against S. aureus. The results showed that most of the fungal isolates produce the active metabolite which have potential as antimicrobial agent against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. text
