Description
Summary:Based on data from United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), 90% of world trade is carried by the international shipping industry. From the actual data on 2013, world trade that passed through the sea increased about 3.8% annually. The trades are dominated by container shipments which increased about 4.6% annually. The container flow at Port of Tanjung Priok was recorded to have 5.83 million TEUs in 2012, 5.89 million TEUs in 2013, and 7.5 million TEUs in 2014. This suggests that the optimal capacity of the terminal will be at the exceeded condition (over capacity) annually. In the document of Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Perhubungan Laut Number UM.002/38/18/DJPL-11 about Port Operational Services Performance Standards, there are operational service performance evaluation of several ports in Indonesia. However, the evaluation done only gives a general assessment and produces output that is less detailed, without knowing the details of processes and activities as well as more detailed issues in the terminal. Therefore, the development of performance evaluation model of container terminal operations formulated in this research is based on micro-simulation, which is expected to produce detailed identification and evaluation The results are as follows. The developed model is a model of performance evaluation of container terminal in the period of 12 days. Implementation of the model is done based on the results of 20 trials with initial seed value that is different for each experiment. In other words, the generated values is from container terminals performance evaluation in 240 days with random probability (stochastic). The model was developed using MATLAB and Simulink software.
