The purpose of this study was to evaluate weight variability and content uniformity and also evaluate correlation between dose and number of samples that out of the tolerance limits. Five pharmacy assistants in the studied hospital participated in this current study. Fifteen rifampicin divided powders were prepared for the dose of 125 mg and 225 mg. The process was repeated 3 times in different days for each staff. All samples were evaluated for weight variability and content uniformity using spectrophotometer visible and the tolerance limits of ±10%, ±15%, and ±25% was used for the evaluation. From the total of 225 divided powders of 125 mg dose, there were 55.11%, 36%, and 15.56% samples which did not meet the tolerance limit of ±10%, ±15%, and ±25%, respectively. A better result was shown for divided powder of 225 mg, there were 36.44%, 18.67%, and 4.89% that out of the tolerance limit of ±10%, ±15%, and ±25%, respectively. Evaluation of divided powders showed unsatisfied weight variation and content uniformity, which might lead to ineffectiveness of TB therapy in pediatric patients. text
