According to the concept of green construction, the conservation of the use of wood materials in construction is very important. On the other hand, wood materials are considered more inexpensive and relatively easy to be found, which makes the wooden formwork systems as the most popular method that is used at present. As the wooden formwork becomes almost the only material used for formwork system, the process of applying the formwork system also becomes important thing that must be considered and developed. The wood materials must be used as efficiently as possible to prevent the waste of wooden formwork usage to be happened. In order to develop the wooden formwork system, it is necessary to identify what factors resulted in the wastage of wooden formwork. Root cause analysis method is applied by making the fishbone diagram in order tofind the wate factors. The objective of using the fishbone diagram is to identify everything that may causes the waste of wooden formwork to get the root cause of it. The case study that consist of field observation and interview in two different building construction projects are conducted in order to make the fishbone diagram. In addition, the results of interviews and observations is also compared with the results of the literature review as the best practice that should be applied in the field. Through data processing literature reviews, interviews, and field observations, it was found that there are six aspects of the causes of waste formwork, which are the design of the building, formwork system planning, human resources, basic materials, equipment, and construction management system. text |
