INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/45743 Introduction. Tobu Hukaea-Laea is indigenous tribe township of Moronene that lacoted in National Park of Rawa Aopa Watumohai. People who lives in this Tobu are native Moronene ethnic, they are believed to be the oldest ethnic in South East Sulawesi. Until now they still using part of plants for curing various diseases. Based on ethnopharmacology study, there are various kind of plants that are still used as medicine, one of them is tokulo (Kleinhovia hospita L.) which are commonly used as painkillers and antiswelling. This research aims to prove the activity of antiinflammatory and analgetic of tokulo. Methode. Etnofarmakologi initial assessment is done through direct observation and interviews with quack medicine, traditional leaders, and ordinary people who use medicinal plants in Tobu Hukaea-Laea. The collected data was tabulated and one of the plant was selected for the activity test of antiinflammatory and analgetic using modificationmethde of Rendall-Selitto and Siegmund methode. Rendall-Selitto modification method performed on Wistar rats induced by Complete Freund's Adjuvant (CFA) in 0.1 mL intraplanar. Each test group was given ethanol extract of tokulo leaf with dose of 35 mg/kg bw, 70 mg/kg bw, 140 mg/kg bw, as comparison are 45 mg/kg bb of acetylsalisylic acid dan 0.36 mg/kg bb methyl prednisolone.Siegmund methode performed on the Swiss-Webster mice induced 0.6% acetic acid intraperitonially. Each test group was given ethanol extract of tokulo leaf with dose of 49 mg/kg bw, 98 mg/kg bw, 196 mg/kg bw and 65 mg/kg bw of acetylsalicylic acid as comparison.Result. There are 34 plants that is still used as medicine in Tobu Hukaea-Laea, include kambabulangoa, ikimko and tokulo. The result of Rendall-Selitto modification methode showed that the ethanolic extract with dose of 140 mg/kg bw gave antiinflammatory effect and for analgetic effect was not appropriate with this methode. Based on Siegmund methode analgetic effect was shown at the dose of 98 mg/kg bw.Conclusion. Plants are still used as medicine in Tobu Hukaea-Laea are 34 plants one of them is Tokulo. Ethanolic extract of tokulo with dose of 140 mg/kg bb shown antiinflammatory effect based on Rendall- Selitto modification methode. Ethanolic extract with dose of 98 mg/kg bb shown the greatest effect of analgetic based on Siegmund methode. text
