Description
Summary:The Bakaru hydropower plant is a hydroelectric power plant that has a run off river type and was built to help electricity needs of 1030 GWH on average each year in the South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi regions by providing power of 2 x 63 MW. The Bakaru hydropower plant uses Francis turbines as potential energy receivers and converts them into kinetic energy. Francis Turbine on the Bakaru Hydroelectric Power Plant has a problem that lies in the relatively short age of the guide vane. This happens because the water entering the turbine carries quartz sand particles and causes erosion on the guide vanes. Quartz sand brought by water comes from mining activities in the area near the upstream river for Bakaru hydropower water source. In solving these problems with reverse engineering methods. This reverse engineering process will produce a guide vane design which will then be made model based on its definition to meet the needs of industry 4.0. After the imitation and production engineering process, the guide vane needs to be measured in geometry to ensure that the product is in accordance with the design and meets the design geometry characteristics or this process can be called a quality check. The final result of this undergraduate assignment is the final design of the reverse engineering process and determines that Francis turbine’s guide vane made by PT. PLN (Persero) is in accordance with the design and has the characteristics of the geometry in accordance with the design of reverse engineering.
