Caffeine can be used as an active compound, where caffeine has the slimming effect that adipose lipolysis. To improve the penetration of caffeine on the skin and increase its solubility for cellulite treatment formulated as which is niosom vesicles of nonionic surfactant. Niosome was made by using thin layer hydration method. Span 60, caffeine and cholesterol dissolved in chloroform and evaporated to produce a thin layer. Then it hidrated with water on the thin layer, will produced solid particles dispersion with particles size approximately diameter 200 nm after sonicator process. To characterized of particle size and particle size distribution of niosome using dynamic light scaterring method. Morphology of caffeine niosome determined by TEM. The efficiency of caffeine entrapment in niosome determined with UV Spectrophotometry at 274 nm. The caffeine niosome dispersion was formulated in the gel form used 6% HPMC gel base. To determined the stability of caffeine niosome gel using climatic chamber conducted in room temperature and accelerated test 40 0 C, 75% RH for 28 days compared with caffeine gel. The diffusion test of both gel was determined in vitro flow through method. The niosome gel were prepared with 2.034% caffeine, because the niosome system can improve the solubility of caffeine up to 20,34 mg/ml. The stability test showed the content, pH and viscosity of caffeine niosome gel were stable under room temperature and accelerated test. The diffusion test showed that the flux of caffeine niosome gel is 13.991µg/cm 2 , 1.35 times greater than the caffeine gel. text |
