INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/46191 Boiler is one of the critical equipment of a Steam Power Plant (PLTU) which often causes shutdown units, especially for Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) power plant. At present, the method in the planning of boilers inspection is an interesting topic to discuss, as well as the current conditions that occur in the planning of inspections of the CFB type PLTU boiler in the PLN environment specifically at the Pulang Pisau PLTU. The purpose of this study is to discuss boiler inspection planning among them are to predicting the time of boiler inspection implementation, evaluation of boiler pipe inspection intervals and renewal of repair programs that will be carried out during boiler inspection. Boiler Inspection Planning is performed based on the condition performance requirements covers from boiler’s efficiency, pipes thickness and sealpot temperature data. To predict the timing of boiler inspection using a regression method based on boiler efficiency data and sealpot temperature. While the recommended boiler pipe inspection intervals refer to the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) and American Petroleum Institute (API) 510 standards by first calculating the remaining boiler pipe life using the API 510 standard, API 570 and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspection (ASME BPVC). For improvement program recommendations that will be carried out during boiler inspection, referring to the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) literature and API 936 standard, then modeling with Weibull and Monte Carlo simulations to simulate an increase in availability and decrease the risk of failure of the program recommendations. The results of this study indicate that boiler efficiency and sealpot temperature data with the regression method can be used to provide predictions of the time of boiler inspection. Boiler pipe thickness data that is processed with API, ASME and SLAC standards is also able to provide pipe inspection interval recommendations. The improvement program recommendations in accordance with the EPRI literature that will be implemented during boiler inspection, after being modeled using Weibull and Monte Carlo, produce recommendations for boiler pipe coatings and refractory improvements according to API 936 standards. text
