Summary:<b></i>Abstract : </b><i><p align=\"justify\"> <br /> Recent advances in digital technology have led to new communication in which visual information plays the key role. Digital TV, videoconference, and videophone are some examples of video communication applications. When compared to audio or text information, video signals require a huge amount of bandwidth. Despite the increase of storage capacity and the development of broadband networks, compression techniques are needed. Compared to still image compression, the challenge of video compression lies in an efficient reduction of temporal correlation. This thesis studies video compression by using motion estimation log-2D algorithm for the purpose of reducing temporal correlation and processing time of video coding. <br />
