Description
Summary:The impacs of river discharge on current circulation and tides in Tanara Waters, Banten, is studied by using two dimensional hydrodynamics model (depth-averaged) Delft3D. Simulation has been conducted for two scenarios, one with and one without river discharge input, on January (rainy season) and August (dry season) 2012 with tide as the generating force. The model result shows that Tanara Waters tidal type is mixed prevailing diurnal. Based on the corange map, the diurnal tidal constituent propagates westward while the semidiurnal tidal constituents propagates eastward. River discharge changes tidal constituents amplitude, both diurnal and semidiurnal, K1 by 5x10-4m, O1 by 0,67x10-4m, M2 by 2,996x10-4m, and S2 by 1 x10-4m (maximum). River discharge also changes tidal constituents phase K1 by 0,05o, O1 by 0,1o, M2 by 0,2o, and S2 by 0,2 o(maximum). River discharge causes a shift in current direction and increases current magnitude near the river mouth. The most significant change occurs on neap tide (rainy season), where the current magnitude increases by 0,3 m/s in Ciujung and Cidurian river mouth.
