During deceleration, the brakes of conventional vehicle convert kinetic energy into heat and discharge the energy into the air. Regenerative braking is designed to reclaim this wasted energy to be converted into electric by DC electric generator , then charged to battery during deceleration. The energy then used to drive DC electric motor. <br />
<br />
This regenerative braking system will be applied into design concept to a passenger car TOYOTA KIJANG MINIBUS 1500 CC from speed 100km/h until 60 km/h. Using regenerative braking energy , we can cahnge prime mover from ICE to DC electric motor to drive the vehicle at horizontal road , and when the road is uphill and downhill use Internal Combustion Engine ( ICE ) , so that we can get energy recovery efficiency of the vehicle, decrease air pollution and increase lifetime.of brake. <br />

Concept of vehicle driven by internal combustion engine ( ICE ) and electric motor is a concept of Hybride / Electric vehicle. There are two types of hybride / elecric vehicle : Series Hybride and Parallel Hybride. In this thesis, design concept uses Parallel Hybride type. |
